Heathrow Scientific Enters Surgical Product Market with Acquisition of Whitney Medical Solutions Portfolio

Vernon Hills, IL – Heathrow Scientific LLC (Heathrow) is excited to announce the acquisition of Whitney Medical Solutions (WMS) assets and product lines, effective February 18, 2025. This strategic acquisition marks Heathrow’s entry into the surgical product market while strengthening its portfolio of innovative laboratory solutions and expanding access to WMS’s eco-friendly products.

Founded in 1984, WMS has been dedicated to delivering practical solutions through its laboratory products and surgical innovations. The company developed the sterile No-Scratch™ Curettes to provide surgeons with a safe and effective tool for removing bone cement during replacement surgeries without damaging implants. Its line of sterile eShield® covers enables the safe use of electronic devices in surgical suites and cleanrooms. In the laboratory space, WMS innovative waste disposal systems deliver convenience and reduce plastic usage.

As part of the transition, Heathrow will relocate WMS’s assets from Niles, Illinois, to its newly constructed, state-of-the-art 113,000-square-foot headquarters in Vernon Hills, Illinois. This cutting-edge facility was designed with sustainability in mind, featuring environmentally friendly materials and an advanced solar energy system. All products will continue to be American-made and sourced locally.
